Course Description

Building Agreement in Marriage is a practical, skills-based course that teaches couples how to move from collision to collaboration — across the most important and most contested areas of married life. This is not a conflict resolution course in the conventional sense. It is a course about building the kind of deep, practised agreement that makes a marriage feel like a partnership, a team, and a safe place — even when life is hard and two people see things differently.

From communication frameworks to financial alignment, from parenting philosophies to spiritual vision — this course walks couples through the 8 major agreement zones of marriage and gives them the tools, conversations, and exercises to build genuine unity in each one.

Agreement is not sameness. It is not silence. This module redefines agreement as a dynamic, living practice — and why pursuing it is one of the most loving things you can do in marriage.

A practical communication framework for couples: how to speak to be understood, listen to understand, and navigate disagreement without damage. Includes the OA Dynasty SPEAK framework.

Money is one of the top drivers of marital conflict — not because of lack, but because of misalignment. This module walks couples through building a shared financial philosophy, household budget, and money conversation rhythm.

From discipline styles to educational priorities to faith formation — couples discover where they align, where they differ, and how to build a unified parenting approach that both can own.

How do we practise faith as a couple? How do we handle differences in spiritual pace, practice, or expression? This module builds a shared spiritual vision that strengthens the marriage covenant.

In-laws, family expectations, cultural obligations, and boundary-setting. How to honour family without being controlled by it — and how to present a united front that protects the marriage.

Emotional and physical intimacy require conversation, not assumption. Couples learn to articulate their needs, hear their partner's needs, and build a shared language of intimacy across all its dimensions.

Where are we going? What kind of marriage, family, and legacy are we building? The capstone module integrates all 7 previous agreements into a couple's shared vision document — a living blueprint for their marriage.
